Welcome

Welcome to the Concrete Masonry Association of California and Nevada website dedicated to provide information on energy data and performance. The purpose is present information related to modern day technology and updates to California codes and standards. The audience fare those affiliated with the construction of concrete masonry products or wish to learn about masonry properties. The material is organized into five sections.

Energy Basics

This section contains general information on energy use in mass buildings. The content of this section is based on the Energy Basics brochure as well the Standard 90.1 document later prepared for the National Concrete Masonry Association.

Performance Data

This section provides the user with U-Factor and other performance data for CMU products and systems. This data is based directly on Joint Appendix IV of the 2005 Title 24 California Energy Efficiency Standard. Data is filtered according to information provided by the user such as wall thickness, CMU weight, grouting condition, interior finish, and exterior finish.

California Standards

This section summarizes the requirements of the 2005 Title 24 California Energy Efficiency Standard, as they apply to concrete masonry buildings and construction assemblies. The user will be able to determine the minimum requirements based on climate zone, building type, and wall type.

LEED Credits

This section is intended to assist those who use masonry products to understand where LEED credits can be achieved.
